Our approach
Through our four-stage approach, combined with our deep knowledge of branding, we chase our passion of transforming our communities into beautiful and accessible spaces.
The four stages
1. Discovery and planning
The journey begins with our discovery process, where we examine user experience and reverse engineer how to make that experience better through our seamless design-to-fabrication process. From circulation patterns, potential signage placement, messaging content, and viewing distances, we engage stage one as newcomers to a space so we may better understand the social, cultural and psychological influences that affect how people think, feel and behave within the environment.
Project kickoff
Site audit and architectural exploration
Pedestrian and vehicular pattern studies
Architectural review for new construction
Outcome: in-depth project reporting with preliminary design and sign product considerations
2. Comprehensive environmental design
Where wayfinding is the act of navigating through the built environment, Environmental Design involves the orchestration of typography, colour, imagery, form, technology and content, creating environments that communicate, and inspire—informing and enriching our daily lives as we move through spaces.
To navigate all the complexities of wayfinding, it’s crucial to consider all architectural cues and landmarks and intuitively weave them through the design process.
Wayfinding design
Site branding
Material consideration
Preliminary fabricator consultation
Outcome: a comprehensive custom architectural system that inspires, informs, and enriches daily lives
3. Fabrication consultation
We simplify complexities of sign manufacturing and zoning bylaw regulations by driving efficient and dynamic stakeholder engagements. Beyond final scope of shop-ready artwork and manufacturing coordination with a fabricator of choice, we will also quarterback and untangle the signage RFP process, as per client request.
Shop-ready artwork
Fabricator procurement and coordination
RFP preparation
Bylaw evaluation and permitting consultation
Signage standards and guidelines
Outcome: final delivery of all design assets and an RFP-ready document for final tender process
4. Fabrication and installation
Quality assurance in fabrication and installation ensures the final sign program yields a positive experience and meeting all intended project objectives. This final stage is anchored in our project management methodology of active partner engagement with our fabrication partners.
Active collaboration with fabricator and installer
Onsite progress inspection
Final site inspection and project wrap-up
Outcome: an enriching experience that moves people through spaces and places—simply and beautifully.
